“COLCAR RACING TEAM LEFT THEIR MARK IN “2011 DAKAR RALLY”

Honoring the guiding the principle of COLCAR S.A. - MERCEDES BENZ, that wisely teaches that “EL SECRETO DEL ÉXITO ES ESTAR BIEN ACOMPAÑADO”(“The Secret of success is to be well accompanied”), the team that participated in the 2011 DAKAR , was highlighted in the competition for their integrity and partnership, among its members and also with other participating teams. While the team had to abandon the race in stage number 10, close to the ultimate goal since it was divided into 13 stages,  the balance was positive, meaning a total success.

The race was a real challenge, at times very hard, and other more relaxed. But the difficulties have been overcome in each stage, with strategies and tactics worthy of a team that was characterized by a participation above all clean.

The result obtained in the world's toughest competition was due to the brilliant performance of the entire human group, from the pilot Hernán Kim, the navigator Martín Ignacio Maldonado, to the mechanics Sebastián Siboldi, Rubén Ambrosio, Gonzalo González y Eduardo López and the assistant Facundo Zorza. In addition to the experience and training of this group , the secret of success was due to the excellent response that the Mercedes Benz ML 320 had throughout the entire travelled route. Thus the marks of Mercedes Benz will be in the history of the Dakar Rally.

The winning spirit that accompanied the “COLCAR RACING TEAM” remains in force, waiting for a new challenge.
